Breaking Dawn is AMAZING!

Breaking Dawn
Midnight Release Party
Barnes and Noble Oceanside

The release party on August 1st was a HUGE success!  Over 800 people anxiously waited until midnight to buy their copy of Breaking Dawn. As you can see from the picture, many kids couldn't wait to start reading... starting at 12:01 A.M.!

Once you finish, tell me about your favorite parts.  Hopefully you tabbed [my book is full!] so share your favorite quotes and passages.
WARNING:
Do not read this posting if you haven't finished the book! You don't want to spoil the story, believe me! Nothing I predicted came true; Stephenie Meyer outwitted us all!
Talk to me all about Edward, Bella, Jacob, and MORE!

hey Mrs. Duncan,
I finished the book last night, it was amazing. It was nothing like I expected it to be, but i loved it. Stephanie is truly talented; at the books end (this will sound very weird) I was so at peace. She finished the book perfectly. I am so glad Jake found someone to love.

LOVED THE BOOK...CAN"T WAIT TO READ IT AGAIN!!!

I am not exactly sure how I feel about the book. I loved reading it but... it did not meet my expectations. I feel so guilty saying that. I am not sure I can explain why though. I absolutely loved reading about the young love of Edward and Bella in the first three books. I missed that. I missed the tension and chemistry that Jacob added to their relationship.

In some ways the plot twists were amazing and unpredictable. Other times I thought it was too predictable.

On a scale of 1-10... I am not ready to say.

I just read what Mrs. Hollowell wrote and looking at it I kind of agree. The book was awesome but it when compared to the first three is very different. It lost the sweet innocence of their love and it turned into a love that seemed a little to old for Bella. Their love seemed to almost turn common. Then again this part makes the story more realistic. I don't know if I like realistic though, I liked a love so deep and sweet it was truly unique.
♥ ♥ ♥ Still LOVE the book ♥ ♥ ♥

Hi Guys-
I am also feeling many different emotions after completing Breaking Dawn. First of all, I'm REALLY sad that I'm already finished. I waited for it for soooo long, and now I'm done. Rats.

Plot. Hmmm. I LOVED the chapters in Jacob's perspective. I laughed so many times as he joked around with the vampires. I never saw the imprint coming with Renesme [sp?]. I was shocked. Stunned. It makes sense, but I was sad in a way.

Okay- I have to finish later; my battery is gone. I want to talk about Bella and Edward. I can say that I feel like their "relationship" happened so fast in Breaking Dawn, it became ordinary instead of exciting, forbidden, and passionate.

More to come L8R. Allie, I'll answer your email tonight. xoxo

So I finally finished and I have to say that I LOVED IT, I know so many people are really upset with the book but I just loved it. I had no expectations going in to it. I am praying that Stephenie Meyer will start a spin off series following Jacob and Renesme life.

OMG did anyone see that the Twilight movie release date was moved up 3 weeks to November 21st. How cool

Here is what Stephenie said about "Twilight" movie release date:

Movie News Flash!

So, many of you have heard that the release of the sixth Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, has been moved from this Thanksgiving to next summer. First and foremost, please know that this schedule change has absolutely nothing to do with Twilight, me, or Summit Films (so enough with the imdb death wishes, okay?). This is Warner Bros. decision, and it was not motivated by anything Twilight-related.

Now for the good news! Though we're all sad to have to wait for Harry Potter, this open spot at the theater creates a cool opportunity. The good people at Summit were thrilled to let me know that now Twilight fans are going to get their movie three weeks earlier than scheduled. That's right—Twilight will be released in theaters November 21st! Let the merry-making commence!

;-) Thanks Harry!

*throws confetti* ROBERT PATTINSON IS COMING THREE WEEKS EARLY!

Oh, yeah, the book.

So...I...don't...really...know. Still amazing work from Mrs. Meyer. However, yes, I missed the I'm-a-human-who's-desperately-in-love-with-someone-who-shouldn't-exist kind of tension. There was...lots of stuff that I definitely couldn't imagine Bella, who's eighteen, and Edward, who knows she's eighteen and also knows how strong he is, doing. Um. So mixed feelings about that.

Jacob's chapter titles are for the win. Forget Bella's lame one-word headings, Jacob took up multiple lines. And his blonde jokes will be stored in my "favorite quotes of all time" list forever and always.

My thoughts on the imprint:
In the beginning, when I first realized it, I was thinking, "NO, mutt, just NO, you did NOT just imprint on a half-vampire child with a horrible name, can't you see how messed-up her life is going to be already?"
In the middle/end, I was thinking, "Jake, you're awesome; Nessie, I want your name."

I must say, though, I was all hyped up for a cool-awesome-kick-butt fight against the Volturi at the end. I didn't want anyone from our side to die, of course, just on theirs. But Dumblevamp--I mean Aro--saved us from a cool fight scene again, as usual.

Breaking Dawn: $17.
Complimentary Starbucks Vivanno: $3.
Edward's face as Bella walked down the aisle: priceless.

It’s so funny because I was really disturbed with the name "Renesme" as well. Nessy is a mythical monster-a coincidence? A pun? A quick decision with little thought to the name? We'll never know!

As for the relationship with Bella and Edward...before the bite... Breaking the bed frame? Feathers? Without saying too much more... it sounded like. Never mind. I don't teach that class.

I still love Edward. The transformation chapter was amazing. I have more to say- but it will have to wait for the weekend.

xoxo Mrs. D.

Hey this really has nothing to do with Breaking Dawn, but I just read an update on Stephenie's website that said she was indefinitely postponing Midnight Sun. She said that a draft of it had been posted on the web and she could not bring herself to finish the book. I hope she changes her mind or that i have misunderstood the update. Please tell me I misunderstood it.

Ah...I heard the same.

I'm in the middle of reading what she posted right now, so I'm in a temporary good mood, almost certain to disappear as soon as I finish. How could she put it on hold indefinitely? Is she nuts? Can't she see the world wants more Edward?

And also, I'm not really sure what kind of person does that. Someone got something against Stephenie Meyer's livelihood or something?

Hi, Courtney! If it is the Courtney I know! Or isn't! I'm open to new friends!

So Midnight Sun better continue. Stephenie Meyer is a writer with a talent that should be remembered and read for a very long time. Her books are amazing, and Twilight has seriously changed my taste and what kinds of books I read. I would never have dreamed of reading a vampire book before I picked up Twilight. And now look at me. Hopelessly in love with a fictional one.

I hope she is able to cope with the...betrayal, for lack of a better word. Her fans are all desperately begging for more, and while I don't want her to feel pressured by any of it, if Midnight Sun is something that makes her happy, she should continue it. It's all about her as a writer. (Plus, reading the first thirteen chapters only made me want to read the book more.)
