In my book, Maximum Ride, Max is the leader of a group or flock where every person in the family is half bird, half human. Write now there in an humans house whos in the FBI. Max is very worried and nervous because the hows is picture perfect almost to perfect. She is very worried and nervous cause shes the leader and there not used to haveing someone look over them and take care of them in a paradise theres a pond about half the size of a lake, barn and animals, oh, and i mention there in the middle of the country. Theres rolling hills and other amazing things. I am blown away by how brave she is too. She and her fellow flockmates fight another mutant of half wolf half human. It is a very good book and "I want you to read it every single night."- Uncle Sam

Book: REM World
Author: Rodman Philbrick

Character: Arthur Woodbury [a.k.a.Biscutt Butt] starts out as a reluctant, depressed, and pessimistic boy. As a result, he is always negative- and sees everything as an impossible and hopeless challenge.
By page 143, Arthur realizes that life is not hopeless- and that he can succeed in saving the universe. He becomes a confident, decisive, and optimistic, which allows him to believe that he will make a difference for all living things.
"And that's when Arthur started to believe that, with the help of others, he might actually be able to save the universe." pg. 143

Book: Eclipse
Author: Stephenie Meyer

Character: Bella Swan
On page 420 and 421. It says "I took a deep breath.' So it's one wat or the oother. Either there is more danger than you want me to know about, in which case it would be right for me to be there, to do what I can to help. Or... it's going to be so easy that they'll get by without you. Which way is it?"
She is scared that Edward will die. Her character trait is fear.

Hi,

My book, the Night Tourist, is great! The main character, Jack Perdu, is smart, brave, caring, forgiving, thoughtful, funny, and determined to save Euri and to see his mom in the New York Underworld. He doesn't change much throughout the book, but he does become more determined, tough, and finds a true friend. He finds a ghost friend in the Underworld named Euri, who is brave, funny, mysterious, calm, adventurous, unpredictable, and determined to live again and help find Jack's mom.

" Jack opened his mouth to apologize. He wanted to explain how he'd never meant to look back, to tell her how he wished he could have given her the chance at life she had wanted. But she shook her head and put her fingers to her lips, and, at that moment, Jack understood she already knew." pg. 232

I recommend this book to everybody!

Hey everyone I am reading New Moon by Stephenie Meyer. Edward Cullens is a very cute young (not really) man who is struggling at the moment with Bella and what happened at her birthday party at the Cullens home.Edward is acting strange after his brother Jasper tries to attack Bella because she got a paper cut. Every since that his family is spilting up/ Rosalie and Emmett go back of to "College" and Alice and Jasper leave to help Jasper with his problem. Edward changes from a fairly happy guy to a whole new person a more gloomy and upset person. Here is my quote.

"I'll do that," Edward said. He Came through the shadowy dining room, walking slowly from him. His face was smooth, unreadable, but there was something wrong with his eyes--something he was trying very hard to hide. I felt a spasm of unease in my stomach." pg.41
Well that was my quote. Hope you like the display name.

Hi, Ms. Duncan, this is Cinda Williams Chima. I was having trouble figuring out how to email you back so decided to comment on your blog. If you'd like to email me your request about an ARC, then I'll forward it to the people at Hyperion. That would be cool to have a review posted at B&N when the book comes out.
Best, Cinda Williams Chima

Right now I am reading The White Darkness. Her father
takes her mothers passport so that her mother cant go to Paris with them. So her dad takes her and instead of going to Paris he takes her to Antartica. This is a big character trait because if he didn't take her mothers passport she would probably be going to Paris with them, and they would never end up going to Antartica.

CAUTION:DO NOT READ IF READING UGLIES!!!! YOU TO CHLOE!! I KNOW YOUR READING IT! Mrs. Duncan, I think that maybe Tally only really turned Pretty because that's always what she has wanted to do .It's to bad that her and David are probably are only going to be friends. If that.I think that Peris only likes Tally for being Pretty.

Mrs. Duncan said...

Syd,
I also think that Tally wanted to be pretty- enough that she was willing to give herself up so her friends would be safe. She knew the consequences...
You need to keep reading the books. Her character develops throughout the series...so ~ we need to continue this discussion after you read Pretties.

:-) xoxo Mrs. D.

PS What do you think the theme of Uglies is?

twilight junkie A.K.A sydney said...

Mrs. Duncan I think the theme is that, people souldn't treat other people diffrent, for example weather you are Ugly and Pretty.Even though Tally really is dying to become Pretty , she dosn't want to spill the whole secret about the Smoke.Luckily, Shay and Tally turn Pretty. It's what Tally's always wanted. It's a very intresting kind of theme and read. Speaking of reading I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL BREAKING DAWN COMES OUT!!!!!! I'm soooooo excited!

Bobby Pendragon starts out as a boy who's got everything going for him, a great family, a good social status, a lovable dog, and a cute girl who likes him. Bobby changes to be a more sensitive person than before.

Now how's that for following a prompt, Mrs. Duncan? I was about to have mental trauma. It takes alot of control not to write, " He had everything going for him. Alot like Hayden." And Tanner, he was not a scared little baby. Give this guy credit. He was flumed to a place that doesn't exist in a physical sense and is in the widdle of of a tribe war.
